| S.W., My name is Ben. I am a former student of yours. It has been quite a few years since we last spoke. My behavior at the time was inexcusable. I treated you poorly and allowed my ego to drive a wedge between us. I did not understand the value of our relationship, nor did I give you the respect you deserve. For that I am truly sorry. You had always given me your attention and treated me well and I was unfair in not doing the same. This is something that has weighed on me for all of these years. I am reaching out to you because I would like to make amends and reestablish our relationship. I believe you are an excellent mentor with much to give the world. My hope is that we can, at least, one day be peers and maybe even friends. Please let me know if you have any interest in entertaining this notion. If not, I understand. – Ben | |

| Hi Ben, Great to hear from you after all these years. Thank you so much for your message, it takes a lot of maturity and courage to write what you wrote so I want to sincerely thank you for that. I was certainly surprised and sad when you felt like our relationship turned sour, but I want you to know that I never took it personally or harbored any ill feelings about you or our time together. Consider it water under the bridge and consider our friendship back on.
