I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin, where the shores of Lake Michigan and the industrial landscapes surrounding Milwaukee shaped my earliest understanding of place and memory. I studied Painting & Drawing at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee before stepping away from art to pursue a career in business management. Nearly a decade later, I returned to painting with renewed purpose, recognizing that creating had never ceased to be part of who I was.

In 2026 I relocated to Tucson, Arizona, seeking both a fresh beginning and a deeper understanding of the American Southwest. The move transformed my practice, bringing the colors, geology, and light of the Sonoran Desert into conversation with the water, industry, and weather of my Great Lakes upbringing. Much of my work now lives in that intersection between remembered landscapes and newly discovered ones.

My paintings evolve through layers of acrylic, oil, watercolor, drawing media, and repeated revision. Rather than depicting specific places, I build abstract environments where erosion, atmosphere, and memory become visual language. Each piece develops slowly as marks are added, obscured, and rediscovered until the painting resolves into an emotional landscape.

Outside the studio, I write poetry, produce handmade artist books, and document my creative process through Instagram. I enjoy connecting with fellow artists online and regularly share works in progress, sketches, and new writing. I also volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, helping build homes within my community.
