“What does the future hold?”
“The future holds the infrastructure of the foundations we set now.” 

“What does that mean?”
“It means you would do well to begin shaping the future now instead of waiting.”

“But what should I do?”
“Do what you want.  The world is yours.  I cannot tell you what to do.”

“But I don’t know what I want.”
“Then your future is cloudy.”

“How do I know what I want?”
“Quiet your mind and look inside of your heart.  Whatever speaks the loudest is yours.”

“When I close my eyes and think about my life there is an awful rush of memories and emotions.”
“So, sift through it and when it passes your mind will be at ease.”

“But it’s hard to hold concentration and I do not want to endure these thoughts.”
“Then I am sorry but you will not come to know yourself or your future.”

“You don’t understand though, great and terrible thoughts immobilize me.”
“What is in your mind is yours, demon or angel it is for you to bear, to hold, and to cherish.”

“How can thoughts of terror and despair help me?”
“You can use the way they make you feel for many ends.”

“Why must I be plagued with this?”
“You asked me to show you the future.  To see into the future you must also see into the past.”

“The past is behind me; I do not wish to revisit it.”
“Time flows are not linear.  What has happened is happening now.  What you will do is what you did.  How you are is how you were and how you will be.”

“This is rather unfair.”
“Life was never ‘fair’.”

“Why did I even start talking to you?”
“You were lost and searching for answers.”

“I just wanted to know what the future holds.”
“An innocent enough question but the broad scope of it is overwhelming to anyone.”

“But you exist seemingly coherent within the past, present and future.”
“I exist as we all do.”

“How are you not overwhelmed..?”
“I am far beyond overwhelmed.  My body carries on while my spirit wanders.”

“What do you mean?”
“I cannot be locked in this form.  Through dreams, drugs and meditations I escape this world.”

“Why don’t you just act like a normal person?”
“It is because I am only who I am.  I cannot be anything else and my path is obscure.”

“What do you stand to gain by your insights?”
“I can see far and clear.  Sometimes I can help others with what I have learned.”

“But you can’t help me see the future?”
“I told you the future is before you.  What you do now shapes it.”

“But that doesn’t make any sense.”
“Why not?”

“Because…  How can I affect anything?  I am just one person.”
“You are just one person so you can affect anything.”

“What do you mean?”
“You perceive the world that is.  It is all your own perception.  What is, is what you make it to be.”

“So you’re saying…  Is that everything is its own and how it is perceived is in the eye of the beholder?”
“Mostly.”

“But, that is stupid.”
“How is it stupid to realize the uniqueness of your own vision?”

“I want to see what everyone else sees.”
“Well that is nice but your eyes are already beginning to open.”

“Then you have cursed me.”
“Curse, bless, both but two sides of the same coin.”

“Please just tell me one more thing.”
“Yes?”

“When I close my eyes and get past all of my memories and emotions.  What will I find?”
“You will find your true heart.  It will speak clearly to you of what you need and want.”

“And if I don’t like what it has to tell me?”
“The truth is not always well received.  It is nonetheless the truth.”

“Why must I stand for all of these things that make me uncomfortable?”
“Comfort is an illusion.  To be clear you must cast off that which is false.”

“False?”
“Concepts like time, justice, comfort, and equality.”

“But those are the cores of our society and worldly operation.”
“We live in a strange world.”

“You live in a strange world.”
“Yes well, I can’t help that.”

“You can stop thinking so much and just carry on.”
“There are times for that.  But today is a reflection of past journeys.”

“What do you mean?”
“You ask me questions that I once asked.”

“Then how did you find the answers?”
“Patience, endurance, and rigorous self-reflection.”

“That is too much for me.”
“It is always an uphill climb to the next level.”

“What is on the next level?”
“The future.”
